Revised inquiry

At first I had multiple broad ideas. After thinking that I wanted to learn more about racism and discrimination in our educational system I figured that what interested me more was how us as future teachers can educate our students how to think more like Dewey thinks we should: reflective thinkers.

My Digital Narrative Technology Experience

This assignment was especially hard for me because I hate being in front of cameras. With this assignment I was able to be more open minded about technology. I created my video using my iPhone, MacBook, and iMovie. I was able to edit my video and add music. I think I most enjoyed how I struggled to find the perfect song. When I finicky found it I had to learn how to add it without it being overpowering than my voice. I had fun with it. If I were able to redo this assignment I would have definitely tried more resources. I would have used a camera, backdrop, and ring lights. Overall I had fun and defiantly went out of my comfort zone to try and create this video.

Privacy Paradox

what suggestions are offered to you in this episode about how to protect your privacy?

We need to read what we are agreeing too. We cannot just agree to all terms and services. We need to be in charge of what we share and what we do not want to. Google is “surveillance capitalism” we rely to much on the web. Algorithms are now being used against us. They trace our behaviors. We need to be more unpredictable.

“On my iPhone privacy settings I discovered that I share my location, contacts, bank information, photos, and microphone. I realized that I share all this for quicker access. When I’m doing online shopping I have all my information saved on my phone and just use finger scan to checkout in less than a second. I myself have allowed websites access to my information and it is scary.”

Bio

Hi! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Carolina and this is my first semester at Fresno State. I absolutely love it. It is an amazing campus where I feel comfortable. Just seeing all the diversity here is amazing. All my classes so far have helped me become more open-minded and have taught me the true meaning of critical thinking. I felt inspired to try things out of my comfort zone and the biggest step I took was getting certified as a eyelash esthetician. This semester has been full of blessings for me and I wish that on everyone.
